Enlightenment and Freedom of Speech

The Department of the History of Philosophy and the Research Project Team of "The Enlightenment Ideas of the Freedom of Thought and Conscience, and Contemporary Secularism" invite to an international colloquium "Enlightenment and Freedom of Speech". The colloquium will be held on 19 and 20 May 2017 in the Institute of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Room 25 (Roman Ingarden lecture hall). Plenary speakers: Professor Ian Carter (University of Pavia, Italy), political philosopher and author of "A Measure of Freedom", and Professor Ulrich Lehner (Marquette University, USA), historian of ideas specialising in Catholic Enlightenment, author of "The Catholic Enlightenment: The Forgotten History of a Global Movement".
