8 października 2020 roku na internetowej platformie Microsoft Teams odbędzie się otwarte seminarium filozoficzne. Gościem pierwszego jesiennego spotkania z cyklu „Between Secularization and Reform. Religious Rationalism in the Late 17th Century and in the Enlightenment” będzie prof. Jeffrey D. Burson z Georgia Southern University.
9 października w ramach tego samego cyklu odbędą się warsztaty poświęcone problematyce religii w Oświeceniu.

Zespół badawczy projektu „Między sekularyzacją a reformą”
Jeffrey D. Burson – profesor historii w Georgia Southern University. Specjalizuje się w nowożytnej historii Francji, kulturze oświecenia oraz historii Rewolucji Atlantyckiej. Autor i redaktor pięciu książek oraz wielu artykułów naukowych. Jego dwie ostatnie książki ukazały się w 2019 roku – są to: The Culture of Enlightening: Abbé Claude Yvon and the Entangled Emergence of the Enlightenment (Notre Dame 2019) oraz The Skeptical Enlightenment: Doubt and Certainty in the Age of Reason (Oxford University Studies on the Enlightenment, 2019 – książka współredagowana z Antonem M. Matytsinem). Wykładał gościnnie w Ameryce i Europie, ostatnio w Wolfson College (Cambridge University). Redaktor pism French Historical Studies, “Historical Reflexions/Réflexions historiques” i Age of Revolutions. W 2019 roku był również redaktorem gościnnym w wydaniu specjalnym pisma Journal of Jesuit Studies, zatytułowanym Jesuits in an Age of Enlightenment.
